Lie

I wasn't born there, but my mother was.

I am proud to be part of two strong cultures that have influenced the person I am today. My mother is Puerto Rican; born and raised on the island her "mom-isms" are even crazier in Spanish. My father is Brooklyn-Italian (if you know one then you know the Brooklyn part is just as important as the Italian); he's called Chicago home for over 30 years but hearing him speak you would think he stepped off the plane from LGA just minutes before. Having parents from such different backgrounds and upbringings has provided me with a unique perspective on the world, but if there is any lesson that stands out the most it would be the importance of family (and food).
